Bill Underwood’s uniquely Canadian martial art – “Defendo”

Insight Productions CEO, John Brunton, produced a film in 1981 that focused on 84-year-old Bill Underwood, a specialist in his own brand of self-defense known as “Defendo”. Developed during the Second World War, this unique Canadian martial art became popular amongst police forces across North America. Aptly entitled “Don’t Mess With Bill”, this Academy Award nominated short film captured the incredible story of this fascinating and talented man.
